What do I really offer...

There is just something breathtakingly beautiful and elegant about a great charcoal portrait isn't there?

No offense to photos, photos are great.. but sometimes they can be ordinary, and stale. Most photographs only capture a frozen moment in time, they do not capture the aliveness and the essence of the subject. Just like a good photographer can capture the aliveness of the moment, a good portrait artist captures the aliveness of the subject. Art is about imagination, creativity, knowledge and skill, only when all those are present can one create a portrait with soul. A heartless camera simply captures everything, while a good artist can emphasize the most important and essential aspects of a subject.

And that is where my passion lies... which is to produce classy and elegant pieces of art! Art that can last a life time and more! (want to see the process of my drawings in action? check out my youtube channel HERE or speed drawing video section under gallery menu)

The Process

If you would like to commission me for a portrait, the steps are very simple:

1. Contact me via email or contact form, detailing your request for the portrait, its size, number of figures in the drawing etc.

2. Send me a high quality digital photo of your choice (image attachment via Email etc...you can send several if you want me to help you pick out the best one) - For more information on quality please see guideline at bottom.

3. I start the drawing and I will email you a digital copy when I'm almost done.

4. You can give me feedback, and I'll make changes if necessary until you are absolutely happy with the portrait.

5. If you can then kindly transfer the pre-agreed fee to my paypal (I also take checks and money order, but paypal is much faster). I will ship the portrait out to you ASAP.

The portrait will be shipped in mailing tube, and spray-coated to prevent smudging and aging.

Other requests - I can do special requests like combining multiple figures to one portrait etc.

*New Offering !!

You can now get your very own time-lapse video of your commissioned portrait* See time lapse video section under commission for more information.

Photo quality guideline

It is very important that the source picture that I'm working with is ****high quality**** (can't emphasize this enough). Which means it should at least be very high resolution and well focused. A general rule is that the subject should be fairly close up so that I can see the details and features that I need.

If you are unsure you can send me a picture and ask, there is no risk.
